You have the famous Pendle witches 1612...Anne Redfearne...Alice Nutter...she went to her death protesting her innocence...Elizabeth Sowthern died in jail....In 1633 21 year old Mary Spencer was convicted as she used to roll her pail down the hill and run in front of it calling to it, Matthew hopkins was know as the witchfinder general he was responsible for 200 Executions.The list goes on..... Late 16th - early 17th Century, Fear of witches and their worships peak. This hysteria starts the creation of mis-information concerning Pagan ways and beliefs. On 5th December 1484 would mark the beginning of the official persecution of witches.......
No one can make you in to a witch, you are born it to it or you will find out later in life that spirit are drawing you to this, People are still afraid of the word WITCH but i can safely say i am nothing to be afraid of, i work alone and that is why i am called a hedge witch.It is an inner change that happens over time and please don t ask my family to understand as they don t lol....they just know i have work to do and that it is important to me.As they have got older and have children of their own they will know as at least 1 of my grandchildren has my gift that i can see at this moment in time, and i will so enjoy teaching him my teachings that i have learnt..
What is a hedge witch....
Hedge Witchcraft, also called "hedge riding" or "hedge craft," is the shamanic art of crossing the "hedge" or boundary between this world and the Spirit world. It is used as another name for the Traditional Witch. The Hedge witch is usually a solitary practitioner, but may be attended by assistants. Their main function is as mediator between the spirits and people. They may also work as a herbal healer and midwife. Some practitioners claim it to be the continuing practices of the wise-women, while others say that it draws from such sources but is a modern tradition.Midwife i am not but i do work with herbs..I love working with herbs and growing your own and the picking and drying them is amazing, Many years ago my mother left me her welsh dresser i have found this is very handy as i have jars of herbs all over it, Herbs are magical substances,infused with the energy of mother earth. Herbs are not only used for spell work, i have found that i can use them in my potions and lotions which have healing probities and has worked wonders for my skin, in fact it has never looked better, And its all natural .........................
